GROUP VISITS

Visit our interactive exhibition and stunning 18th century Hidden Chapel to discover York’s fascinating religious history and how the convent survived times of turmoil, persecution and two world wars. Hear the incredible stories of the radical Yorkshire nun and pioneer Mary Ward, Yorkshire martyr Margaret Clitherow and about the Sisters who still live in the convent today.

Bronze Package
Take a self-led group tour of our state-of-the-art Exhibition, exploring the stories of the Bar Convent through fascinating artefacts, interactives and audio-visuals.
£7pp & £5pp concessions

Silver Package
Delve deeper into the history of the Bar Convent and add a talk from our knowledgeable guides or a Sister to your visit.

Historic Library

Gold Package
In addition to your exhibition admission and a talk, you can also indulge in a visit to our award-winning café for tea, coffee, biscuits at 11am.  £15pp

OR

1.30pm exhibition/talk with cream tea in cafe at 3pm.  £20pp

Historic Library
Our historic Library houses priceless texts dating from as early as 1508. Scholars and groups with an interest in church history, particularly the recusant period, may access this precious resource by special arrangement.
