Yorkshire woman Mary Ward (1585-1645) is celebrated around the world every year as part of Mary Ward Week (23 Jan- 30 Jan) which marks the anniversaries of her birth and death. She has such international significance the her followers and supporters are building a case to have Mary Ward officially recognised as a Saint by the Catholic Church.

She is buried in York and the Bar Convent is regarded as the focal point for her historic legacy, but have you heard of this trailblazing local woman?

Join us to discover more about Mary Ward’s history-making vision that, despite opposition her entire life, is thriving today in forty-two countries across five continents. She now has hundreds of thousands of followers worldwide and there are more than 200 schools in her name that have educated around 3 million children between them.
