The Bar Convent Arma Christi Returns to Public Display
March 28, 2026 - April 11, 2026
All Day
Don’t miss the opportunity to see this spectacular new find and now one of York’s most significant artefacts on public display.
The Bar Convent Arma Christi medieval scroll is one of only 11 known to have survived in the world. It is the best preserved example and only one on public display. It is also the only example to have response text after each verse, demonstrating that they may have been used in a different way to previously believed.
The Arma Christi is part of the wider Treasures of The Bar Convent exhibition, open Mon-Sat 10am – 5pm (last admission 4 pm).
