York Shakespeare Project brings Shakespeare’s sonnets to the secret garden at The Bar Convent.

While sipping a complimentary drink, this year you can watch the comings and goings as the staff and guests at a hotel take a turn in its garden. Eavesdrop on the gossip! They may take you into their confidence – perhaps revealing more than they intend – and each will have a Shakespeare sonnet to share. The show will be around 45 minutes long. Our Sonnets are aimed at those aged 14+ but may be enjoyed by younger folk with the right support from their accompanying adult.

Friday 11 – Saturday 19 August in the secret garden at the Bar Convent Living Heritage Centre 6pm and 7.30pm (plus 4.30pm on Sat 12 & Sat 19 Aug) £10, £5 (14-17), price includes a drink, Two U14s per adult free. No show on Monday 14 Aug.
